Upper Addison Gardens

BACKGROUND

A refurbishment of a high-end residential property in Upper Addison Gardens in West London required the provision of two new doors to provide a clean architectural solution in the newly designed kitchen/diner on the lower floor.

THE CHALLENGE

The client and architect were keen to use an ultra-clean minimalist solution and to minimise the intrusion into the living space of more traditional door options. Also important was the specification of the doors had to be fire rated, and able to provide a clean aesthetic.

THE SOLUTION

Working with Craft Architects, Portman Pocket Doors proposed a solution for two installations. An FD30 Single Pocket Door and an FD30 Double Pocket Door were selected to meet the requirements of both the client and the architect. FD30 Pocket Doors are fire-rated and modular- being able to be trimmed to achieve an exact clear opening.

Also key to the client was that the aesthetic of the doors needed blend in with the clean lines of the cabinetry of the surrounding area.

Portman Pocket Doors also worked very closely with the customer and the Building Control Officer to ensure all the relevant certifications were met. This also included the bespoke 44mm door blanks as well as the pocket door system.
